THE RED GARUDA | RESONANCES AND THE TRANSFORMATION OF SPACE

THE RED GARUDA

This work is inspired by the eastern mythological creature Red Garuda and a result of my personal reflections of the change of space throughout the pandemic times. Based on the original connection of Movement and Sound in rituals, my intention with this work is to share a transformative ritual of different spaces within and around through the resonances of the elements sound & movement. Since some years I am following the lineage of the Yungdrung Bön, which is a pre - Buddhist old indigenous spiritual tradition of Tibet. In the Bön tradition, the Garuda holds a special position of importance and reverence as an enlightened Yidam, a wisdom being who emanates in forms of each of the five elements. The Red Garuda is associated with the fire element and the wrathful wisdom that overcomes all obstacles and brings healing, protection, and positive transformation to all beings. I am very grateful to be able to study with wonderful teachers as John Jackson and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.

DANCING WITH VIOLENCE
November 12 at Hosek Gallery and Online Premiere

Inspired by the  physical impulses, psychosomatic+emotional+cognitive memories, and story of one Anonymous dancer, we will create an immersive audio and somatic experience for online and live performance offerings.

Wieland Möller, Min Yoon, and Rodrigo Zorzanelli are researching with one dancer with their stories and somatic impulses of violence — to create an immersive audio and psychosomatic experience around the theme of violence, toward a live performance experience called "Dancing with Violence", on November 12. We hope that this piece will contribute toward more spaces for more people to experience the multitude of perspectives toward healing and reconciliation or possibly a deeper understanding beyond words without resolve. & In a moment of coming out of isolation and possibly more attuned to our inner feelings, we hope that audio can bring together the inner, outer, and collective experiences in moving together…

Unterstützt durch das NATIONALE PERFORMANCE NETZ - STEPPING OUT, gefördert von der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien im Rahmen der Initiative NEUSTART KULTUR. Hilfsprogramm Tanz.
Wieland Möller is a Berlin based drummer, sound artist and performer in the field of jazz, improvised music and contemporary dance.
